Logical Machine Migration

Abstract:

This paper summarizes the advantages and design considerations of a distributed computing environment using Logical Machine Migration to support user mobility and system reliability. The differences between logical machine migration and process migration are reviewed and some implementation details of the demonstration system DLMS386 are presented.
