The Distributed Logical Machine System DLMS386

The Distributed Logical Machine System 386 (DLMS386) is a distributed system using 30386-based personal computers connected by a 10 mbit/S local Ethernet. The CPU's work at a speed of 20Mhz. The logical machine operating system used in the implementation is a modified MINIX kernel running processes in the 80386's virtual 8086 mode. Figure 2 shows the overall system layout.

As the LMM must be aware of all machines in the network, it is now a Distributed Logical Machine Monitor (DLMM) controlling hardware access and migration in every real machine in the system.
