Greetings Mr. XXX!
I'm sending this message to you because your the only email address I
came across while connected to the University of Saarbrucken, I hope you
don't mind me writing to you.
A few years back, my great uncle visited Germany and brought back some
becker bier from St. Ingbert. I've been looking for this beer here in
the USA but haven't been able to find it. I was wondering if you knew if
the beer is still being made and if you could possibly give me an address
so I could send a letter to the becker brewery. I wish to get some of
their beer shipped to me, hoping I can make a{rrangements for this.
I connected to Saarbracken due to your proximity to St. Ingbert, I'd
greatly appreci{ate any help in this matter as I'm totally lost as to how
to get the address for the brewery.
If anyone in Saarbrucken would like to converse with me, that would be
fine, would be interesting to hear about life there. I live in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
I may be switching to a different Internet provider, so if possible,
please send a reply both to (address removed) and (address removed) (a
good friend of mine). Again, I GREATLY appreciate any help in this
matter, I truly feel the Germans make the world's finest beers and hope
to try the one with my last name on the can :-)

Sincerely,
robert becker

Hello Robert,

I'm not XXX, but I think I can help you. The Becker
brewery still exists, but they are no longer independent. Karlsberg,
the biggest brewery in Saarland, Germany, bought them recently; they
still sell beer under their old label, though. Ask for "Becker's
Extra", that's the best one. (Karlsberg Urpils is better, but it's
for the name I guess :-)

Their address is:

  Becker
  Privatbrauerei
  Kaiserstr. 170-174
  66386 St. Ingbert
  Germany

You can also phone them; try +49 6894 103-0. I don't know if their
telephonist speaks english though.

regards,

  Chris

Subject: The beer is now here!

Hi Lothar,
I wanted to let you know that I got the beer! One of the cans was slightly
dented but otherwise it's fine! As you have requested, I'm going to try
and get a couple of pictures of the beer and myself.
[...]

I haven't tried there beer yet, as much as I'd like to I realize that once
I drink this I'm going to have to try once again to find some more so I'm
going to wait a couple of weeks anyway and actively pursue all possible
leads of getting this anywhere in the USA.

Again, MUCH thanks for this!

robert becker.
